Media coverage: Langara faculty vote of no confidence

After months of expressing deep concern and urgency about the enrolment crisis hitting the College, Langara faculty members decided to hold a vote of no confidence in the College leadership. On October 14-15, 410 faculty cast online ballots, with a decisive result: 92% voted that they do not have confidence in President Dr. Paula Burns.

In a follow-up Special General Meeting on October 16, faculty determined their next step: to call on the Langara Board of Governors to remove Dr. Burns from office, appoint an internal interim president, and launch a search for a new President, effective immediately. The LFA asked for a response by November 1. The letter sent to the Board of Governors was shared with all faculty by email on October 17.
