September 2025
Dear friends,
Ever feel like you’re explaining very obvious things… to very powerful people… who very much don’t want to understand them?
In the past few months, we’ve explained to the federal government that their constant intervention in strikes is convincing employers to drag their feet at the bargaining table.
We’ve explained to governments at all levels that the Temporary Foreign Workers Program is creating a class of indentured, exploited, vulnerable workers.
And we’ve explained to pundits and politicians that working people are the economy. So any economic policy has to put workers first.
But honestly? Explaining only gets you so far.
What really works… is organizing.
Our power as workers comes when we stand together, with each other and for each other. And the best way to do that has always been in a union.
If you know someone who needs a union — someone who’s sick of trying to explain to their boss why they deserve a fairer deal, better treatment or a safer workplace — then point them to this page: bcfed.ca/join.
That’s where they can find out everything they need to know to get the ball rolling. And they can stop explaining… and start winning.
In solidarity,
